I greatly appreciate articles like this one. It is educational and informative. I love learning about the ancient writings, their history, and the people who translated the writings. I love this site!
I learned much reading this article. Thank you. I am surprised and disappointed that it would have been rejected for publication because it does not portray these writings positive enough in the sense I guess that they are not faith promoting. I think that editorial agenda setting is unwise. We cannot be as good of witnesses, or, in Professor Midgley’s language, defenders of the King and His Kingdom, if we do not know what is actually out there and what it actually says. I am glad I read this article and grateful for our scripture and the Book of Mormon especially warning me that plain and precious Gospel truths would be taken and revised.
