7:12 “One of the things we know, now, from the Lachish letters, which were approximately 30,000 clay tablets that were found in the little town of Lachish.” No. Perhaps, Martin is confusing the number of tablets from Lagash of Sumer with Lachish. To date one clay tablet has been found at Lachish, and Wayne Horowitz’s book _Cuneiform in Canaan_ indicates that less than 100 cuneiform tablets have been discovered in Israel proper. Nineteen reported ostraca were discovered at Lachish, however, during James Starkey’s excavations at the site in the 1930s.
For quite some time, going back into 2015, and currently, Martin’s audio has been distorted, staticky.
during these podcasts, you frequently mention that something will be put in the notes on the website for a reference.
I can’t find any notes like that. Can you help me?
